This study investigated the school psychologist's perception of his own role as member of a working group with other professionals in education. The author's hypothesis was that there is a general consensus among school psychologists about their preventive function through work with teachers. A questionnaire was used to characterize the subjects in the sample. Role perception was detected through a non-structured Q scale with 70 statements about the activities of the school psychologists. Results confirmed the investigator's hypothesis and also showed another perception of the psychologist's role as "moderator in the solution of school problems".
