The study has involved the testing of an individualized teaching model - Modular Instruction - in Statistics Introductory Course. It has aimed verify difference in output learning in two situations: one where there was communication between teacher and pupil called Instructional Moduleswith Teacher - MIP - and the other, where the communication was chiefly printed without the teacher's presence, called Independent Instructional Modules - MII. The sample had 42 subjects, being 12 from Graduation Course and 20 from Post-Graduation Course in Education, both groups belonging to Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, being the last ones candidates to the Masters Degree. The Course was developed in different periods to each form of organization of the individualization model, at the same time. The experiment took place in a library, with an individual booth for audio-visual show. The results showed meaningful difference regarding the course learning outputs, but having not evidenced meaningful difference in the results of the four organized modules. The difference in proportion among the subjects who needed special tasks to improve deficiencies, has not been a meaningful difference. Both situations had not evidenced meaningful difference concerning the course learning outputs, between the graduation and post-graduation subjects. The two kinds evidenced meaningful growing concerning the subject's learning outputs. It has been concluded that the MIP situation provides better lear.
