The article presents informations about the training of readers to mark Entrance Examinations essays. After training, and in a real situation, 2738 essays were graded by 48 trained readers. The analysis of variance of the means calculated from the set of grades given by each one of the 48 evaluators showed a highly significant difference, indicating that more than one criterion was used, in despite of the training sessions.
