This work analyses women's participation in Brazilian working force, focussing on their distribution by different occupations, their wages in relation to men's wages, their options regarding college carreers. The problem of feminin work is discussed in terms of capitalist society dinamics, for which, according to the author, the use of women inlower prestige and lower payment occupations is highly functional.
