The article registers some data about the movement of the school workers in São Paulo, at four moments: the 1963, 1978 and 1979 strikes and the election for the Teacher's Association (APEOESP) in 1979. The authors characterize the different class organizations and analyse their claims in various historical phases, that indicate some tendencies for the future.
