This study, a survey of secondary school principals in Brazil, is part of the international research project The secondary school principal in a comparative perspective Fourteen countries participate in this project, which is centered at the University of Iowa, E.U.A. The results obtained in this study refer to Brazilian reality, but it doesnot include questions more specifically related to Brazilian education given its objectives of international comparison. The objective of this survey was to obtain the demographic and professional profile of secondary school principals. Other questions, such as the very function of the principals, were left for future research steps.
