The purpose of this work, is to examine alternative experiences related to health care, feeding and education of "handcapped" children, from 0 to six years old and also to the economics costs of these activities. It is a study of cases. Three of these experiences are being made in Brasilia and they are regular nurseries. As for the others, two are PROAPE units in Recife and one unit in Fortaleza has a particular system of home nurseries centered on a regular base nursery. In order to characterize this work we used regular procedures of ethnographical work. As for the theoretical cost reference chart we used the general structure of educational economy studies. It is important to emphasize that these experiences cannot be lineally compared. A careful examination of the different assistance characteristics and item costs should be made.
