Within the current questioning of the stability of adults' intellectual abilities, as defined by Piaget and his team, this study investigated the kind of reasoning employed by a group of adults using the computer, having no previous knowledge of any kind about computering. The adults have shown reasoning patterns inferior to their capacity in other fields, which suggests an alternative explanation to Piaget's thesis of equilibrium. The impact of technological innovation might thus unveil the dynamics of human cognition processes; in this case, it also implies altering current concepts about computer training programs.
