Resumen

SILVA, Rose Neubauer da. Influências teóricas no ensino e currículo no Brasil. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1989, n.70, pp.5-19. ISSN 0100-1574.

The article reviews the main theoretical influences on teaching and curriculum in Brazil, from the subjectivist idealism and the model of bureaucratic efficiency applied to school - prevailing in the beginning of our century - through cognitive and behaviorist theories of the 50's - of which the stress on child development phases has led to more suitable and realistic teaching methods and curricula. Other currents are also reviewed which though not directly applicable as proposals of curriculum and school organization, provide the grounds to criticize or to remodel existing proposals: theories on the unequal educational opportunities (Coleman, Jencks); conflict theories (Baudelot-Establet, Bourdieu-Passeron, Bowles-Gintis); and interpretative and ethnographic currents, recommending changes in both the curriculum and the internal functioning of school.
