Abstract

VIANNA, Cláudia Pereira. Divergências mas não antagonismos: mães e professoras das escolas públicas. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1993, n.86, pp.39-47. ISSN 0100-1574.

Usually, during a first evaluation of the struggle for access and improvement in the quality of Public Schooling, we suppose that there is no disparity among those who fight for it. However, a qualitative research, from an ethnographic perspective, on the State Movement for Education (MEPE) reveals, incorporating gender relations, similaritiesand differences among the main characters of these struggles: teachers and students' mothers. Is also underlines some possible contributions that points of view of these different segments - neither opponents nor inconditional allies - may bring to the struggle for upgrading Public Schooling.
