Abstract

BONAMINO, Alícia  and  BRANDAO, Zaia. Curriculum, tensions and alternatives. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1995, n.92, pp.16-25. ISSN 0100-1574.

This article is the result of a period of assistance rendered to the Department of Education of the city of Rio de Janeiro, on a 1993-4 project do draw up a Basic Core Curriculum. Its setting off points is a thinking over of the movement for discussion of curriculum in Brazil in order to point out the problems dichotomized analyses - the cultural experience of the child vs. the cultural experience of humanity, quality vs. quantity, universal vs. singular etc. - in the ambit of curriculum. It proposes the need to incorporate these categories as tensions that normally crisscross educational practice and theory. Based on the current proposal for curriculum in Rio de Janeiro, it presents a preliminary hypothesis for work on "core concepts" and develops an exercise in analysis to test the viability of the hypothesis.

Keywords : Currículos; Núcleo Curricular Básico.
