Abstract

ALMEIDA, Jane Soares de. Teaching practice and supervised training stage in education of teachers. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1995, n.93, pp.22-31. ISSN 0100-1574.

The education of teachers for the beginning grades of primary school, currently performed by the "Habilitação Específica para o Magistério" (Specific Teaching Qualification Course), the course replacing the old "Escola Normal" (normal teachers' college), must include the practical activities related to the "Teaching Practice" and "Supervised internship disciplines", the culminating moments of teacher education. This study seeks to characterize this curriculum component in three levels: the legislation on, the theory, and the reality of the schools, which often run counter to each other, forcing change in their contours. Such analyses make it possible to rethink "Teaching Practice" and "Supervised Residency" and their relevance to present courses, at a time when queries are being raised with respect to the current situation in the training of teachers in the state of São Paulo.
