This paper presents statistical series of the Minas Gerais State annual income, total expenses with public education, and wages paid in that sector in the 1980-1993 period. In addition, series on number of students and number of teachers in the state educational system, in the same period of time, are presented. Some relations between pairs of some of these variables are analysed. Finally, the evaluation of teachers real wages from 1986 to 1994 is discussed
