"Juvenile protagonism" has had a considerable impact on the educational area, mainly after implementation of the secondary-school education curricular reform, whose guidelines adopt this concept as one of the pillars of the suggested innovations. However, the issue can have different interpretations. Concerned with greater conceptual accuracy, this article draws upon several authors' definitions as a counterpoint for the analysis of protagonism such as proposed in the official reform document.
