This article provides resources to understand a recurring phenomenon in schools teacher retention and turnover. The factors related to these resources range from educational system internal mobility to the withdraw of the profession. School census data from the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anisio Teixeira - Inep - for the years 2012 and 2013 are used. These indicators allow a systemic vision of the abilitiy of the national education systems to ensure teachers permanence: provide background to educational studies and research and data to analyse predicting and resulting factors.
