This article discusses the creation process and the results of an evaluation experience of the mastery of scientific skills by young people and adults in everyday situations. The innovative nature of the proposal is the evaluation of social practices in the use of scientific language, by creating a scientific literacy indicator. It is not, therefore, an evaluation of knowledge construction in school contexts.
