Abstract

This text describes, discusses and analyses how young university students, who are regular and/or occasional cinema spectators, attribute meaning to the films they see. The data is constituted ofwritten and videotaped reports of film-watching workshops and the concept theoretical references are based on the Latin-American Studies of Reception (ER) and the theory of l'acte de spectature developed by Martin Lefebvre. In this paper, we present some elements and key concepts for the elaboration of a theory of film images signification.
