This work discusses the understanding of Health Community Agents (HCA) in regard to a collection of five television advertisements for HIV/AIDS prevention campaigns, which for the most part, treat themes related to women (feminine empowerment and the negotiation of safe sex). The data analysis seek to point towards, through the deployment of feminist and cultural studies, various aspects concerning to the cultural (and political) dimensions of this government strategy which values television as a pedagogical instance to present health campaigns.
