SOUZA, Nádia Geisa Silveira de. O corpo: inscrições do campo biológico e do cotidiano. Educ. Real. [online]. 2005, vol.30, n.01, pp.169-186. ISSN 0100-3143.

ABSTRACT In this article, I question what we usually think the body is - a purely biological phenomenon and call the attention to the presence of other discourses and social practices, which interact and correlate within the social web, transforming and producing the body. Following in these ideas, I establish connections with Michel Foucault's studies and other authors whose researches are linked to Cultural Studies' field in poststructuralist perspectives. At the first moment, I discuss the question of knowledge and "objects" associated to the academic disciplines as inventions, to reflect on the effects of strategies linked to the biological field aiming at the human body study in school education. Finally, I analyze the body as inscription of routine events that are considered "false" knowledge or excluded by Biology, in order to question the dominant role of the school practices and disciplines.
