Resumen

PILLAR, Analice Dutra. Sincretismo em desenhos animados da tv: O Laboratório de Dexter. Educ. Real. [online]. 2005, vol.30, n.02, pp.123-142. ISSN 0100-3143.

This paper examines some relations between visual and sound languages in a syncretic text created and exhibited on television since the 1990s, and the meanings that child-viewers attribute to the program. This study focuses on the syncretism present in a television cartoon, analysing how the same content shows up in the interaction between different languages. Understanding this hybrid creation is a complex task, and it involves considering not only the information present in the text, but also the child-viewers’ reading skills. The discussion is based on the contributions of the semiotic theory developed by Algirdas Julien Greimas, especially the studies of the Centro de Pesquisas Sociossemióticas on the reading of contemporary syncretic productions in communications media and art.

Palabras clave : Semiotics; Syncretism; Cartoons; Television; Childhood.
