Abstract

In order to problematize polarized conceptions in the reduction of the sensitive or the exacerbation of the rational, which are guiding principles of educative actions in visual arts, this essay proposes an experiment of thought that can bring up the contradictions and ambiguities of the philosophical tensions around the notions of pictorial image and poetic imagination, based on the old cultural heritage of interdicting the gaze that is distracted by the diversity of the world. Between the sacralization or philosophical condemnation that remain and what the fictional dimension of art projects on education, we can affirm poetic imagination as a dynamics of a proteiform thought, which finds its power when it makes the body transfigure reality to mould actions in mundane life.
