This essay begins with the proposal of a "pedagogy of the concept" according to Deleuze and Guattari. On this basis, I emphasize and explore the assertion that alI thinking demands, as its internaI condition, "relational traces". Among the relational traces defined by this pedagogy of the concept, I choose the "friend" as a character who exemplifies a given thought. I try to show that the Deleuze/Guattari's concept of friendship is based on empiricist and pragmatist theory of relationships. The friend is a character - in Deleuze and Guattari - that leads us to think of a relationship between a master-becoming and a boomerang-pupil as proper relational traces of a singular pedagogy, based on the conceptual difference between "knowledge" and "apprenticeship".
