The paper analyses the historical conditions of Sigmund Freud's elaboration of a childhood theory, which has sexuality as one of its crucial aspects. It points out in which ways the lines of force of the childhood device constitute the Freudian sexual childhood and turns it into one of the 20th century most powerful ways of children's subjectivation. Finally, it discusses to what extent such way of subjectivation still operates in the present days.
