Resumen

RATTO, Cleber Gibbon. Compulsão à comunicação: modos de fazer falar de si. Educ. Real. [online]. 2006, vol.31, n.02, pp.27-41. ISSN 0100-3143.

The work aims at problematizing the emergence of the “communication society” as a hegemonic pattern of description of the contemporary culture, analyzing one of the main effects of this logic: a compulsion to communicate that impoverishes the public space and the political action. It offers a study of the chief origin lines for this phenomenon, whose intensification has produced an almost irresistible appeal for intimate confession and an alleged self-reflexivity, which is supposed to be formative of vocations. The author is supported by a theoretical and critical framework from current sociologists, joining in a tradition that tries to find, with the analysis of contemporary education and culture, new ways to construct sociability and political action.

Palabras clave : Education; Communication; Contemporaneity.
