This article proposes an analytical attention, in the domain of educational research, to the processes of governamentalization that take place in school practices nowadays, pointing out to the simultaneous and inseparable relationship between power and freedom in the foucaultian approach. Presenting four studies carried out at the School of Education of University of São Paulo, it examines the articulation between the technologies of the self and certain everyday school events. The theoretical and methodological approach focuses, therefore, the problematization of the strategies of students and teachers government of the soul, which work mainly by the psychologizating convocation towards a practice of an intimate and selfregulatory freedom by school subjects.
