Abstract

From the foucaultian concept of governmentality, this paper make the defense of an analytical frame and of a heuristic that show the immanence between the project of schooling for all and the social system, as an effort of the Modern State to expand the mechanisms of control. Foucault allows the association of the politic domain, the authority and the behaviour of the citizens. The schooling institutional model and identity categories, since the eighteenth century, are products and instruments of a liberal style of government, in which the politic and ethic dimensions are tied. An analytics of these multiple governmentalities opens new questions and others historic narratives about the school and its inhabitants.
