The idea of common sense was always regarded in Popular Education as alienation or naivety. Actually, this theme moves back to Plato, especially the Allegory of the Cave. One must provide a new meaning to common sense by avoiding opposing it to science and understanding it as a linguistic possibility of constructing usual meanings for our inner experiences. This article aims at an operation that would signify the repolitization of education, but as action (H. Arendt). Action, Common Sense and Education can be reshaped in order to allow an escape away from Platonism that still weighs upon the theory and practice of Popular Education.
