The notion of risk discussed in this paper is associated to themes as power and government, understood under a post-structuralist approach. Taking as central concepts of disciplinary society, security society, normalization and risk the work analyzes how determined groups of children undergo some transformations related to the ways they are seen and how they become a target to specific modes of attention and social care. Afterwards, the idea of risk present in daily discourses and in childhood policies is problematized to indicate its relation to a kind of rationality that guides specifical procedures of power exercises directed to childhood.
