The emergence in the pedagogical knowledge of Modernity, two childhood’s figures -one classical and one liberal - and spread wide, massive and conflicting practices related to second in the last century, are the arguments I present this article to talk about the discourses the death of modern childhood and / or the emergence of a figure’s postmodern in contemporary conditions. I discuss this process have we would led to the production of a broad discursive field of childhood and with it the emergence of a child chimera: a form of subjectivity in which are combined the most heterogeneous, incongruous and diverse elements and characteristics we attach to children.
