Abstract

LAVILLE, Christian. Economy, Religion and Moral: new fields for school history wars. Educ. Real. [online]. 2011, vol.36, n.01, pp.173-190. ISSN 0100-3143.

The history wars in education that are best known are held or have been held in Western countries. They are generally examined from the point of view of their effects, real or imagined, on the political and social order. But there are some new forms of history wars, less known, whose stakes are rather economic, religious or moral. Some of them are still in the West, but others develop in countries like India or Pakistan. The article begins by recalling briefly some classical cases, then depicts at greater length new forms of history wars in education.

Keywords : School History; History Wars; Citizenship Education; Identity.
