Abstract

This paper is about production of identified/normalized bodies as well as its re-existences. The place of insertionanalysis was a Psychosocial Attention Centre (CAPS) for alcohol and other drugs (AD) in Aracaju, Sergipe. Our objective is to open possibilities for thinking about connections between two relevant subjects which are not deeply analyzed in the field of Psychiatric Reform: alcohol and other drugs and gender relation, especially arrangements of masculinity. In terms of biopolitics, thinking about the value of male bodies who use alcohol and/or other drugs and mental health services, especially about what these bodies can do, what their power is, and why bodies can go further than what is prescribed. Finally, we intend to research about the subjectification processes of these bodies. This paper is part of an ongoing research project for doctoral thesis.
