This article analyzes the children's and youth literary production of the writer Reginaldo Prandi, who addresses the Yoruba mythology and the Yoruba-descendant culture in Brazil, with the purpose of introducing its possibilities of use as literature and didactic material in the school. Based on the selection of six titles of the author, it seeks to situate this production in all his writings, in order to examine the representations of childhood and children expressed in these narratives. The essay articulates topics such as ethnic identity, African diaspora, anti-racist and decolonial education, as a contribution to reflection on the importance of African and Afro-descendant cultures in K-12 Education.

Keywords : Childhood; Children's and Youth Literature; Decolonial Education.
