Drawing on a Materialist perspective, in this paper we aim to build a critique of what we call three basic dimensions of the educational limits engendered by the sociometabolic order of the Capital, articulating the discussion of these limits to the transformative and revolutionary potential of Education. We set out from the principle that the founding contradiction of education in capitalism is to present itself as a system of reproduction of capitalism’s framework of values and practices while it constitutes itself as a way of contesting this same ideological structure. In conclusion, we indicate that the limits of education must be conceived as part of the Capital’s complex ideological framework of reference, and not just as isolated elements.
