Abstract

CORREIA, Jonilson Costa. Know-how in the formation of teachers for the hospitality course at Universidade Federal do Maranhão. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2013, vol.38, n.2, pp.429-441. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v38i2.26812.

This study analyzes know-how in the formation of teachers for the Hospitality Course at Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA) through a theoretical immersion into its different components. Contributions from theorists such as Paulo Freire (1996), Tardif (2002) and Saviani (1987) were used as a background for analysis of the data. A qualitative approach was chosen and semi-structured interviews were used as a tool for data collection. The subjects involved in the study were teachers and students from the Hospitality Course at UFMA. It can be concluded that teachers' knowledge is constantly modified and improved, and as a result teachers are engaged in an ongoing process of formation for their professional lives.
