Resumen

LUDWIG, Cristiane. Teaching without a bannister? Formation in times of rupturing with tradition. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2013, vol.38, n.3, pp.519-535. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v38i3.00519.

This study sets out to interpret the thinking of Hannah Arendt as a hermeneutic link to the understanding of formation, in the context of the modern diagnosis of education crises and breaking with tradition. The loss of a common world, with the watering down of the distinction between public and private spheres and the lack of division between adult and children's worlds has resulted in limited outlines for the field of formation. Within this perspective, it can be asked: can such accomplishments, so dear to modernity, be reinforced by thinking which tries to conserve tradition? Thus, the study tries to understand some reflections from Arendt's work, focusing on the interpretation of the proposal of conservation in the light of the metaphor "thinking without a bannister". By locating elements of the vita active in tradition, it is possible to renew the idea of a common world, which (re)kindles the dialogue between Philosophy and Education in a fruitful way.
