Abstract

PORTOCARRERO, Vera Maria. The history of thought and ontology of the discourse of truth. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.1, pp.101-116. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.0104/interacao.2015.401.07.

The aim of this article is to make a critical analysis of the ideas which are indispensable for a methodological delimitation of Foucault's thought on parrhesia in the field of ethical thinking, problematizing it from his concept of philosophy as a way of life. The methodology used was a conceptual analysis of the compilation of texts from some of his last courses, with an emphasis on conceptions of the history of thinking and ontology of the discourse of truth. The conclusion reached was that, despite the difficulties presented, the archeo-genealogy of Foucauldian ethics develops a critical grounding which is relevant to the relationships between truth, freedom, subjectivity, discussed from the final years of the 20th century onwards, based on renewed critiques of Hellenistic thought.

Keywords : Methodology; Parrhesia; Ontology; Archeo-Genealogy of Ethics.
