Abstract

PINHEIRO, Veralúcia  and  COSTA, Melissa de Paula Santos. The myth of impunity and speech in defense of lowering of criminal age. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.2, pp.325-335. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v40i2.32620.

In this article we discuss the construction of the myth of impunity of the adolescent author of offensive Act expressed in political speeches, defenders of the demotion of the penal age. At the same time, we seek, in the narrative of a mother, whose son "disappeared" after the fulfillment of socio-educational measure in Central Internment of adolescents (CIA), grasp the contradictions of capitalist society, whose institutions do not fulfill the role of protecting life and, on the other hand, propose to punish those who do not belong to the established order. Our reflections aimed at deconstructing the media discourse carrier of ideology that the juvenile delinquents, by reason of their nature "bad," deserve to be punished.

Keywords : Violence; Adolescence; Socio-Educational Measure; Criminal Age.
