Abstract

GILBERTO, Irene Jeanete Lemos. Digital technologies in the frontiers of knowledge: the education-culture interrelationship in higher education. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.2, pp.389-403. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v40i2.28762.

The integration of information and communication technologies with educational processes in higher education has opened a broad debate over the production of new knowledge resulting from researches developed in the area. One of the emerging issues is related to the new ways knowledge is produced, based on interactions. In this context, it is important to reflect on the different research forms using technologies and encourage the debate of the university as a place for exchanges, information and new knowledge. Taking as basis the results of a survey carried out with college professors on the use of technologies in the qualification processes, and their implications on the training of the future professional, this study proposes a reflection on the use of Internet as an instrument capable to promote the democracy and the freedom of thought, due to the specificities and dissimilarities between the several cultures.
