Abstract

BICALHO, Ramofly. The concept of rural education in the context of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST). Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2017, vol.42, n.2, pp.297-310. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v42i2.46007.

This article is the result of the research carried out in rural education in its close articulation with the social movements, with the collaboration of the Scientific Initiation Grant Program (PIBIC / CNPq) and the Program of Tutorial Education - PET Field Education and Movements Both at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). Its main objective is to present reflections carried out in recent years on the conception of rural education in the context of the Movement of Landless Rural Workers (MST), and to present the formation of educators and their participation as historical and cultural beings. We use, predominantly, bibliographical and documentary research, in particular, Education Book No. 8 - Principles of Education in the MST. We conclude that field education, as a liberating praxis, is used in the process of understanding the struggles and educational demands defended by the MST. It dialogues with the gestures, desires, values and struggle for the land.

Keywords : Field Education; Social Movements; Movement of Landless Rural Workers; Political and Pedagogical Training.
