Brazilian educational problems debated during the elaboration of the Constitution of 1934 are discussed. The debates among the deputies about educational questions are studied. Initially, the confrontment between catolics and representants of the “Pioneiros da Educação Nova” group is localized. Then the problems about education and work proposed and discussed at the Assembléia Nacional Constituinte of 1934 are localized.
