SILVA, Ademar da. A segmentação na escrita espontânea da criança na primeira série do primeiro grau. Educ. Rev. [online]. 1990, n.11, pp.39-44. ISSN 0102-4698.

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that when a child whites spontaneously it splits the syllables according to the hypotheses she makes about the pronunciation of the words. With such a process the child not only makes personal suggestions for each part of the words but also grasps and uses models of segmentation already observed in correct writing and in text books. However it does not always do such splitting by means of the same procedure. Sometimes it splits the same graphic units in a conflicting and different way. This proves that the child is unremittingly elaborating and re-elaborating its linguistic representations. Such a fact must most obviously, by the teacher who deals with literacy.
