Departing from the questioning of the current thesis, this text is an attempt of showing, in opposition to the usual criticisms, that the problems of the mathematics teaching process are fairly distributed among social groups. The value of the abstract forms of mathematical knowledge in itself is referred to forms of appropriation and use of mathematics that interest the dominant classes. Such methods are developed in order to accomplish the value of such teaching. The process of teaching promotes in this way the formation of specialized workers for the scientific and technological production, simultaneously to the exclusion and unqualification of the members of the popular classes. For them, the learning of mathematics would need a radical refuse of the process of abstraction referred as to its own practices of social class.
