Abstract

This article discusses the issues on Linguistic-cultural diversity and country site education by the traditional pomerano people, according the Decree 6.040 / 2007. It makes questions the homogenizing education promoted to the rural area, which, according to Paulo Freire and Alfredo Bosi, has despised the people’s cultures and languages. It analyzes data produced by the research groups with accumulated discussions and records in the research diaries and photobook. It performs a critical review of the theoretical and scientific literature on the topic while making interpretative reading. The objective is to promote discussion about the historical difficulties in the schooling process experienced by this traditional people, in the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It’s part of the debate on affirmative actions, that fosters nowadays an important advance in the legal and conceptual aspects for formation in rural contexts. The analyses allow to identify an increasing academic research and put more interest in finding alternative proposals to overcome historic problems, as the invisibility of knowledge, language and culture of this people.
