SANTOS, Luciola Licinio. Managing the curriculum or the effects of management in the curriculum development. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2017, vol.33, e166063.  Epub 05-Fev-2018. ISSN 1982-6621.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0102-4698166.

This article addresses the interconnections between management and development of the curriculum. These two aspects also are related to each other and to other factors, such as educational policies, proposals from multilateral organizations and the influence of ideas and actions of business groups in education. Initially it is discussed the National Common Curriculum Basis, showing how it is configured as an important curriculum management tool. This paper also examines how the legal definitions and routines of school management affect the curriculum. It also is discussed the business vision on education, followed by an analysis of the role of external evaluations. Finally, it is shown as the management of education systems and schools is being influenced by what is called the New Public Management which reflects on school curriculum and consequently on the production of students’ and teachers’ subjectivities.
