CRUZ, ANA CRISTINA JUVENAL DA. BLACK THOUGHT’S PROTAGONISM IN BRAZIL: THE PLACE OF WOMEN AND BLACK CHILDREN IN THE UNESCO PROJECT. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2018, vol.34, e191259.  Epub 20-Set-2018. ISSN 1982-6621.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0102-4698191259.

This article presents a cartography of the researches about the condition of black women and black children within the studies that composed a research program about races applied in Brazil by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, known as “UNESCO Project”. It was made in partnership with Revista Anhembi, of São Paulo, between 1950 and 1953. This text will focus on the descriptions of the Paulista stage of the project, whose orientation by Florestan Fernandes and Roger Bastide was methodologically organized with contributions from black women and black men who also acted as researchers through testimony and empirical practices of joint participation in research. Specifically, questions will be presented regarding the condition of black women and children, so it is intended to recognize the protagonism of black people by removing them from the ostracism to which they have been relegated.

Palavras-chave : UNESCO Project; Black children; Black women.
