Resumen

BATISTA, DOUGLAS EMILIANO. MERLÍ: MASTER OF SPEECH AND OF SCHOOL´S DECONSTRUCTION. AN ANALYSIS OF THE SPANISH SERIES ACCORDING TO PSYCHOANALYSIS AND EDUCATION. Educ. rev. [online]. 2019, vol.35, e217405.  Epub 08-Abr-2019. ISSN 1982-6621.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0102-4698217405.

This article, based on Psychoanalysis and Education and their notions of symbolic language (Symbolic), subject of enunciation, narcissism (Imaginary), alienation and separation, and language mastery, intends to analyze the main character of the Spanish series “Merlí”, a philosophy teacher of the same name teaching in High School. This analysis is relevant because Merlí represents a contemporary ideal of teaching. According to this article, Merlí assumes the position of The master of speech. Besides, he intends to deconstruct School rules to emancipate his young disciples from power relations that occur in the classroom. The article proposes that Merlí’s narcissistic position creates difficulties for students to conquer a place of enunciation. In addition, the radical School’s deconstruction tends to confuse power relations between teachers and pupils with symbolic ties between them, ties that are essential to formation.

Palabras clave : Merlí; Psychoanalysis and Education; Teaching and contemporary.
