Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Selma Suely Baçal de. The productive process in the electronics industry and the training of workers in the Manaus industrial pole. Perspectiva [online]. 2006, vol.24, n.02, pp.689-708. ISSN 0102-5473.

This paper presents the results of a study conducted about the productive processes of electronic companies in the Manaus Duty Free Zone. It considers the implications on worker training of the use of new equipment and of innovations in management and organization of the labor process. In the 1990’s, there was a sharp reduction in the labor force in the Manaus Duty Free Zone that caused substantial changes in workers activities. The study looked at the conditions in which current forms of work are conducted, their complexity and, at the same time, their simplification. In perspective, it sought information about initiatives of the companies in the electronics sector. The study is based on a look at the objectives of the companies and the perspectives of workers.

Keywords : Electric-Electronical Industry; Manaus Free Market; Taylorism; Professional Qualifications.
