Abstract

ZINANI, Cecil Jeanine Albert; SANTOS, Salete Rosa Pezzi dos  and  WAGNER, Tânia Maria Cemin. Reading of literary text: pleasure and acquisition of knowledge. Perspectiva [online]. 2007, vol.25, n.02, pp.387-401. ISSN 0102-5473.

The reading of literary text is an important concern of Portuguese language and literature teachers. In an attempt to reflect on this issue, some considerations will be presented about the use of literary texts in the teaching process. The paper first discusses theoretical aspects of reading and their implications for culture and school, highlighting the mediating role of the institution in the formation of the public reader and the valorization of the literary text as a possible means to stimulate an alliance between youth and the text, allowing a singular experience with the work. The paper then focuses on the contributions of Vygotsky about the concepts of the zone of proximate development.

Keywords : Reading of Literary Text; Zone of Proximate Development; Operative Group.
