Abstract

This article discusses teaching in the distance education modality and is part of a master's study. It analyzes the concept of teaching found among professors, pedagogical staff and students and how it is configured in the Spanish Language teaching course offered by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in the context of the Open University of Brazil (UAB. The research was made using a qualitative approach based on a case study and questionnaires and interviews were used as data collection tools. The data allows affirming that the distance education Spanish Language course EaD/UFSC is based on collaborative work and all the professionals involved exercise some influence on the teaching-learning process. The teachers in the course include the Spanish language professor, a distance tutor at UFSC and a personal tutor in the field, within an hierarchical organization of functions.
