Abstract

GONZALEZ SERRA, Diego. An integrated view of human learning. Perspectiva [online]. 2015, vol.33, n.1, pp.119-134. ISSN 2175-795X.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-795X.2015v33n1p119.

In the historical course of scientific psychology were developed different theories of learning, due to being unilateral, address partial aspects. To conceive them absolutely other fundamental aspects of this process are ignored. For instance, the stimulus response theories on the one hand, and cognitive humanists on the other are contrasted. So, in defense of a more full and objective knowledge of the psyche, it is considered necessary to work towards a dialectical theory, synthetic, or integrative, in the process of critical and reflective learning, reviewing and integrating all that world psychology has contributed in this direction. According to the principle of dialectical unity of analysis and synthesis, this does not deny but affirms the need for analytical or partial theories to deepen the nature of the different aspects and stages of human and animal learning without creating hyperbole or unilateral approaches. A multilateral approach is advocated by the dialectical position that emphasizes human learning as a reflection of their social environment and history, taking into account the creative function of what one learn. For his great theoretical and practical importance, the need to develop and present a psychological theory of learning as a central theme of general psychology and teaching is suggested. As it is a collective and long term task, in this paper, we seek to advance the discussion of some criteria to be refuted, maintained or enhanced.
